There’s bounty to be found at your local farmers market, and that goes double for those in the San Juan Islands. And summer is the time when they’re in full swing. Here are three different farmers markets that will complete your weekend.
Lopez Island Farmers Market
At the Lopez Farmers Market you’ll find island-grown vegetables, fruit, and flowers, as well as island-produced food products such as jams, chutneys, pickles, fresh fudge, seafood, natural grass-fed meats, and more. Don’t overlook the wide variety of arts and crafts including jewelry, soaps, healing oils and salves, glass art, textiles, art prints, photography, furniture, metal works, etc.—all by local artisans.
The market runs seasonally on Saturdays (and July 4th!) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. near the Lopez Center for Community & the Arts.

Orcas Island Farmers Market
Think local when you visit the the Orcas Island Farmers Market. Here, everything is grown or crafted by Orcas Island farmers and artisans. The market includes produce, much of it organic, crafts, art, jewelry, clothing, pottery, food and drink vendors, and some of Orcas Island’s service organizations (historical museum, master gardeners).
The Orcas Island Farmers Market is open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm every Saturday from the first weekend in May to the last weekend of September on the Village Green in the heart of Eastsound. Parking is where you find it. Public restrooms are available on the park grounds. Leashed dogs are permitted.

San Juan Island Farmers Market
Walk around the SJI Farmers Market on Saturdays at Brickworks in Friday Harbor and listen to lively, local music, and shop for island-grown flowers, eggs, produce, meat, fruit, cheese, and more. The San Juan Island Farmers Market also hosts a wide range of talented, local artists and community organizations each week.
You can find the market at the historic Brickworks community center, just two blocks from the ferry landing. No dogs or pets at the market, please.
